Farm and Large Animal Services

At Dundas Veterinary Services, we are honoured to be the go-to medical centre for so many farms in our community. We enjoy the variety of patients and cases that we get to treat here in our area. Our veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians have honed their expertise over the years and make frequent house calls to treat cows, goats, sheep, pigs, farm birds and other patients. Please call us to learn more about our farm and large animal services, and our team members will be happy to answer your questions.

What treatments or services do you provide for large animals and farm animals?

Our team offers full-spectrum care for all types of animals that can be found in farms. Some of the services we have available are: vaccinations, deworming, blood tests, hoof and horn care, injury repair, disease screening, surgeries, pregnancy diagnosis, and many more. As we mentioned earlier, all of our veterinarians are able to make house calls on a regular basis in order to provide their services in the most convenient way possible.

How much does it cost for a veterinarian to treat farm animals?

Our service rates depend entirely on the specific animal or animals being treated and their conditions. After a one-on-one conversation with our team, we can provide an accurate estimate for your specific needs. Please do not hesitate to call us to learn more.

Do you accept new patients or clients? Do I have to make an appointment for my animals to be seen?

    Dear Clients,

With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we are pleased to advise that effective May 25, 2020 the restrictions on veterinary practices have been lifted. Based on these changes, below are some important updates to our operating policies.

    1. WE CAN NOW SEE ALL CASES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY This includes vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, spays and neuters, dental services, and more!

    2. SAFETY MEASURES TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE

  • Continue our "closed waiting room" policy to protect our clients and staff. When you arrive, please remain outside the hospital and use your cell phone to call us. We will take a history of your pet's health and discuss any concerns. A staff member will then meet you outside to bring your pet into the hospital for an examination. The Veterinarian will call you to discuss the recommended treatment plan. After your appointment, a staff member will return your pet to you outside, and take care of any needed medications and payment.
  • Continue the use of credit cards as the preferred payment method.
  • Continue with curbside pickup of food and medication (unless you have used our online store and are having your order delivered directly to your home). To place an order through our online store, visit our website and click on "Online Store".
  • 3. ONLINE CONSULTATIONS ARE AVAILABLE If you wish to connect with a veterinarian via message, phone or video, visit our website and follow the "Online Consultation" link.
